What's in a Shoulder? |
The shoulder can be one of the most complicated areas of the body to work on. You have multiple bones of the body coming together to move as one, smooth (hopefully graceful) unit. This is without taking into account the numerous muscles, tendons, nerves and how they function as a joint and in connection with your neck. Having someone who specializes in looking at all of theses structures and how they are moving and functioning is paramount.

Do these sound familiar? |
Impingement Syndrome, Rotator Cuff Tear, Partial Labrum Tear, AC Joint Separation, Frozen Shoulder - Your shoulder diagnosis does not define your course of care, your exam does. Getting your shoulder properly assessed is step one!
|
It is normal for the shoulder to pop or click, right? |
No. Frequent popping or clicking lets us know that some of the biomechanics in the shoulder are off. Sure it may not cause any pain or seem like a big deal at the time, but leave the faulty biomechanics there for 10-40 years and people mysteriously develop rotator cuff issues & tears for seemingly no reason. Fixing things when they are not really an issue is like putting out a small fire, rather than a large one.

Patients Say.."I ignored my shoulder pain for roughly a year, but it got so bad that I couldn't even put my shirt on without being in pain. After 1 visit with Dr. Krystal Drwencke the sharp pain was gone and I could move my arm without crying inside. What I appreciated the most, well almost the most, is that she did not expect me to return for never-ending visits. She prescribed a specific target date and we tracked my overall wellness toward that goal." |
